The Kerala government has announced that welfare pensions worth ₹2,000 will be distributed to beneficiaries starting from December 15 as part of social security support ahead of the festive season. Around 62 lakh people are expected to benefit, with pension amounts directly credited to bank accounts or delivered through cooperative banks. The increased pension aims to provide financial relief during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
